Cathedral Candles

Featured in Dee & Darren’s beautiful bedroom on The Block 2015, our candles grouped on the bedside table were:

These graceful giants of the candle family, weighing up to 8kg for the tallest, have remained our best sellers ever since their debut in 2007.

Based on the Divine Proportion (also known as the Golden Mean) these impressive candles are designed as a set of three. The repetition of proportion between each size gives an innate harmony to the group, a device used widely in architecture, particularly during the Renaissance.

Texture is the dominant feature of these monoliths, the wax taking on a rock-like finish. I love pouring these candles. It is a slow, almost meditative experience to watch the wax bubble and froth up the sides of the mould, giving each candle its own unique character.
